Each one-to-one training program is bespoke to individual requirements and may also cover some of the following exercises:
- Capturing attention
- Recall (Coming back to the owner)
- Teaching basic commands, i.e. sit, down, stay
- Walking calmly on the lead with distractions
- Food manners
- Jumping up
- Car travel
- Control at doorways
- Games such as ‘Seek & Retrieve’
- And much more…
Encouraging reinforcement techniques are utilised to train your dog, using ‘fun’ and ‘reward’ based methodology found to be extremely successful for all breeds, as dogs tend to be highly motivated by food or their favourite toy intertwined with high praise.
Once you and your dog have mastered the simple techniques, you will enjoy a happy, life-long unconditional bond of love, trust and loyalty.
‘Take the Lead to Success Dog Training School’s’ one-to-one program covers an initial meeting and observation of your dog(s) in their natural surroundings, as part of up to four sessions. This observation is paramount for the training program to be adapted to your specific needs. Immediate, relevant advice and any basic training required will also be given during this initial observation period.

Also, during the first session you will receive a comprehensive and fully illustrated ‘Training Manual’ which covers every aspect of our basic training program and much more. The manual is a most useful journal to help you to understand your dog more and contains our ‘step-by-step’ techniques required to practise the exercises.
The first step to ‘taking the lead to success’ would be for more specific information to be gleaned about your dog. We will discuss any particular concerns and confirm an appointment.
All owners will be asked to sign a declaration of responsibility for your dogs whilst under instruction in a public area or during group sessions.
It is regrettable that dogs that may have an aggression problem cannot be set free in public areas or accepted in group sessions due to the necessity for the protection of others.
Take the Lead to Success Dog Training School have gained huge success with many cases and are able to provide the tools and show you the techniques to succeed. But it is vitally important that you and all concerned in your dog’s life participate and put 100% into the program to achieve your ultimate goal of the full devoted attention and unconditional love we are capable of receiving from ‘man’s
best friend’.

A Brief History of Dogs
“Researchers have confirmed that domestic dogs descended from wolves, Fido may be cute, cuddly and harmless. But in his genes, he is a wolf and was tamed around 100,000 years ago.Researchers tracing the genetic family tree of ‘man’s best friend’ have confirmed that domestic dogs, from petite poodles to huge elk hounds, descended from wolves that and domestication probably happened 10,000 to 14,000 years ago.
There is evidence that primitive humans and wolves lived near to each other and most likely benefited from the relationship. Wolf packs probably scavenged some of their food from carcasses left behind by hunting humans.“It’s possible”, the leading researcher noted, “that wolf packs incorporated human bands into a territory protected from other packs. They could have become like natural watchdogs, acting for the villagers as an early warning system of any potential invading intruders.
It is also likely that primitive humans raided wolf dens, captured dogs and then raised the ones that showed promise of being tamed. Once they started feeding these animals, they probably couldn’t get rid of them, it is clear that we ‘like’ dogs and they seem to ‘like’ us”.
